Everything you need to know about how funds work on Barakah Network.
When a business pays for services on Barakah Network, 20% goes back to the community: 15% is automatically allocated as a donation to the masjid associated with that business, and 5% pools into our Community Charity Fund, which is donated quarterly to a charity chosen by community vote. The remaining 80% covers platform operations, development, and growth. This split is transparent and consistent across all revenue types.
It's simple: 20% of every dollar our platform earns gives back to the community. 15% goes to the community partner's selected masjid, and 5% goes to the Community Charity Fund. Whether it's from subscriptions, ads, lead fees, or promotions, the system automatically calculates these amounts. There are no extra charges to businesses or community members.
Masjids receive their accumulated donations on a monthly payout cycle. Payouts are processed via Stripe, ensuring secure and reliable transfers directly to the masjid's connected bank account. Each masjid receives a detailed breakdown of where their funds came from, including which businesses contributed. Pending payouts shown above represent funds that have been allocated but not yet disbursed in the current cycle.
Barakah Network is a social enterprise, not a traditional non-profit. We operate as a sustainable business that builds community-powered economic infrastructure. Our model is designed so that the more the platform grows, the more funds flow to masjids. This creates a self-sustaining cycle where businesses benefit from visibility and services, communities benefit from economic circulation, and masjids benefit from consistent, growing financial support. We believe this model is more sustainable and scalable than relying purely on charitable donations.
5% of all platform revenue pools into a quarterly Community Charity Fund. Each quarter, all platform members can nominate charities and vote on which one should receive the donation. The winning charity receives the entire quarterly pool. Proof of donation is posted publicly on the Charity Fund page for full transparency. This ensures that our community collectively decides where additional impact is made.
Every masjid on Barakah Network has its own impact page where you can see the businesses supporting it and the cumulative donations generated. You can visit any masjid's profile to see their specific numbers. Additionally, this transparency page is updated in real-time with aggregate data across the entire platform. If you have further questions, please reach out to us via our contact page.
Our Economic Philosophy
We believe that economic circulation within the Ummah builds long-term independence. Barakah Network is not charity -- it is a community-powered economic movement where every business transaction strengthens the bonds between Muslim entrepreneurs and the masjids that serve them.
When you choose a business on Barakah Network, you are not just making a purchase. You are investing in your community's infrastructure, supporting your local community, and participating in a movement that redefines how the Muslim community builds economic resilience. Every dollar circulated within this network carries barakah -- because it serves a purpose greater than any single transaction.
